Scope
Design and installation of four 30m lighting towers with floodlights, distribution board, and underground reticulation
Timeline
Start: 26 November 2021 - Completion: 25 February 2022
Scope
Replacement of High Pressure Sodium (HPS) street lighting with energy-efficient LED luminaires
Challenge
The existing HPS lighting infrastructure along Telegraph Terrace was outdated, energy-intensive, and less effective in terms of illumination quality and environmental impact. The challenge was to upgrade the system with minimal disruption to traffic and community activity, particularly around sensitive zones like the Tom Brown Roundabout.
Solution
Molloy Electrical Contracting delivered a full-scale lighting upgrade using LED luminaires.

Key strategies included:
- Scheduling works during school holidays and overnight to reduce traffic disruption
- Coordinating with Power Water for safe isolation procedures
- Engaging local subcontractors for traffic management
- Implementing strict WHS protocols including working at heights and mobile plant use
Results
Efficiency: LED luminaires significantly reduced energy consumption and improved lighting quality
Timeliness:
Project completed on schedule with zero delays
Safety: No safety incidents reported; all WHS protocols followedlays
Environmental:
All materials were removed and recycled/disposed of correctly
Client Testimonial
"Works completed to a high standard, and within expected time frames."
