Scope
Installation of a 34kW PV solar system on a 28.2kVA inverter at the Leanyer Recreation Park roof.
Challenge
- Integrating solar PV with zero-export control to comply with Power and Water requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with NTG and Power and Water standards.
- Installation with minimal disruption to park operations.
- Incorporating Indigenous engagement in project delivery.
Solution
- Installed 87 x 390W Hyundai panels on Clenergy racking system.
- Configured 1 x 8.2kW Fronius Symo inverter and 2 x 10kW Fronius Symo inverters.
- Integrated Fronius Smart Meter for zero-export control as per Power and Water requirements.
- Installed Solar Analytic Devices for real-time monitoring at inverter locations and main switchboard.
- Mounted inverters on walls closest to switchboards in kiosk and office buildings.
- Installed smart meter and CTs in the main site meter panel, connected via RS484 cabling link.
- Ensured compliance with NTG and Power and Water standards throughout installation.
Results
- Reduced grid electricity usage through solar generation.
- Enabled real-time monitoring of solar performance and site consumption.
- Project completed on time (March 2021 – May 2021).
- Indigenous engagement achieved during project execution.
- Zero lost time injuries recorded.
