Scope

Design and installation of four 30m lighting towers with floodlights, distribution board, and underground reticulation

Timeline

Completed on 23 May 2022

Scope

Electrical installation for a 120-man contractors camp including temporary construction wiring, generator-fed ATS board, and modular building connections.

Contract value: $670,000

Challenge

The project required a rapid deployment of electrical infrastructure for a remote contractors camp. The challenge was to ensure full compliance with NT WorkSafe standards while managing temporary construction wiring across multiple modular buildings in a remote location with limited access.

Solution

  •  Wiring all buildings with construction-grade cabling back to a Main Switchboard (MSB)

  • Installing a Laundry chassis board to run sub-circuits for each building

  • Running submains and cable reticulation for complete installation

  • Connecting an ATS board fed by two generators, with full earthing and MEN system installed

  • Conducting full testing and certification under AS3000 & NT WorkSafe guidelines

Results

  • Compliance: Certified by NT WorkSafe with no non-compliances observed

  • Efficiency: All electrical reticulation underground and overhead in wiring enclosures to multiple DBs through camp to even loading throughout the installation for generator supply.

  • Safety: All work tested and verified by licensed electricians

  • Infrastructure: Camp layout included bunk houses, ablution blocks, laundry, fuel storage, water pumps, and septic systems
