Project Overview


Molloy Electrical Contracting (MEC NT) was engaged to deliver electrical and lighting upgrades for the Chung Wah Terrace and Emery Avenue intersection in Palmerston, NT. The scope included supply, installation, and commissioning of new street lighting infrastructure to improve safety and visibility at the newly constructed roundabout.

Challenge


  • Integrating new lighting infrastructure within an active urban intersection. 


  • Coordinating with civil contractors for trenching, boring, and foundation works. 


  • Managing traffic control and minimising disruption to road users. 


  • Ensuring compliance with NT electrical safety standards and council requirements.

Solution


  • Supplied and installed new pole-mounted LED street lights. 


  • Undertook trenching, under-boring, and conduit installation for underground cabling. 


  • Installed new RODP and switch packs. 


  • Provided all necessary compliance documentation and coordinated with the builder for isolations and site facilities. 


  • Delivered a complete handover package including as-constructed drawings and certifications.
