Scope

Design and installation of four 30m lighting towers with floodlights, distribution board, and underground reticulation

Timeline

Key design and procurement in 2022 with delivery stages into early 2023.

Scope

High‑voltage (HV) supply establishment, Package sub-station with associated earthing, main switchboard (MSB) design and installation for a warehouse area, LV reticulation (trenches, conduits, pits and cabling), meter panel/MSB integration, earthing, and surface reinstatement (stabilized sand and bitumen repair).

Challenge

  • Managing scope of uncertainty during early design (changes to maximum demand and final load layout).

  • Coordinating HV utility works and meter panel/MSB configuration within an operational industrial site.

  • Long lead times for major items (substation, switchboards) while maintaining program.

  • Planning and executing underground works with quality reinstatement and minimal disruption.

Solution

  • Placed procurement for HV installation and coordinated with the client and utility for delivery windows.

  • Issued MSB design package and manufacturer drawings, then integrated the CT meter panel and protection settings.

  • Executed trenching, conduits and pit installations; established earthing and hauled mains/submains cabling to the MSB.

  • Completed surface reinstatement including stabilized sand backfill and bitumen repair of affected areas.

  • Produced switching schedules and documentation to support commissioning and handover.

Results

  • Electrical headworks and MSB were delivered to specifications with compliant protection and metering interfaces.

  • Improved capacity and reliability for site operations at Dawson Street warehouse facilities.

  • Consolidated technical artefacts (drawings, schedules and pricing records) supporting future maintenance and upgrades.
